My name is Kat and I am Auntie’s Arts. I started painting glassware about six and a half years ago. I have always loved creating any kind of art and needed an outlet for my creativity. Very quickly I realized that if I wanted to continue to paint glassware and ceramic pieces, I had to sell it or I would drown in my creations, so Auntie’s Arts was born. I sell at many different markets and craft fairs, usually in the South Sound area, but I have traveled to events on the coast and even down to Oregon.

I search out fun and unique pieces, scouring thrift stores, garage sales and estate sales. Each piece is lovingly painted by hand with a design I feel is best suited for the size, shape and purpose of the vessel I am painting. After I finish painting a piece, I cure it for at least 2 days, then put it through a baking process that takes several hours. This ensures that the piece of art you buy will hold up for years of enjoyment – they are even dishwasher safe!

I have had a lot of fun this summer exploring lavender in preparation for this event. I am pleased to say that my sister is coming up from Oregon to join me and will be bringing her darling Gnome Garlands. I look forward to seeing you there!
