Our Story

My husband and I have always loved to travel and have visited a lot of places around the world, but we were ready to retire to one place.  My father lives in Vermont and as a family of 4, we love to visit him. We wanted to find something with a little taste of Vermont that we could escape to on the weekends and eventually permanently.  I am an avid gardener and proud to say that our house we have lived in for over 22 years was in a garden tour in 2011.  So when we came upon this 11 acre piece of property, we knew immediately we found our paradise.  I saw the potential for the re-creation of a lavender farm and my husband saw the massive 100 year old barn.  In December 2014, “The Farm” became ours.

About the Farm

I have always been passionate about gardening and have referred to my gardens as “My Mind”. Anyone who knows me, knows that my mind is always running with ideas and I have unlimited energy.  So, my theory for the name is that my gardens are an explosion of color and themes. I was so excited to transfer my powers to a slumbering piece of earth.  The transformation started in the Spring of 2015, launching from what used to be a U-Pick lavender farm to a treat for all senses.  There were numerous overgrown fields and dead plants to be removed and a lot of restoration to be done. Throughout the years, I have planted a variety of lavender plants and created gardens in different areas of the property. One of which, is a delightful butterfly garden that attracts an array of “flowers in the sky”. My greenhouse, known as my Groot House, is where I propagate my lavender.  Today, there are over 400 very healthy lavender plants with over 15 species including a unique, yellow lavender.  A small vineyard is also part of our vibrant wonderland. There is an abundance of beautiful and happy perennials serenaded by birds and bees that all await you as you meander up the tree-lined driveway that takes you to a place where nothing else matters.

We distill our essential oils on site and offer all our products in our online gift shop.

Soon we will be distilling Helichrysum, a plant in the sunflower family, that is reported to have various medicinal properties.
